How it all began

I came to art later in life. I’m a Salesforce professional at a nonprofit in Orlando, a mom of two, and for most of my life, creativity lived quietly in the background. In 2020, that changed. I picked up a piece of charcoal and something shifted — a feeling I hadn’t expected, a voice I didn’t know I had.

Art has since become the bridge that ties everything together. My life is a mix of creativity, family, and purpose, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Why wildlife

I work with charcoal to bring animals to life on paper — capturing not just their form, but their spirit. Every piece I create tells a story of strength, resilience, and the quiet, powerful moments that connect us to the natural world. My goal is simple: to make you pause, look closer, and feel something deeper for the wildlife we share this planet with.

My drawings are not just about animals — they’re about us. A cheetah guarding her cubs feels like every parent’s quiet vigilance. A zebra calf disappearing into its mother’s stripes speaks of safety and belonging. When I draw these moments, I’m drawing something universal. Something we all recognise but rarely stop to name.

"Wildlife has a way of speaking without words — through a gaze, a stance, a fleeting moment of stillness. That's what I strive to capture."

Why charcoal

Charcoal became my voice because it reflects life’s contrasts — light and dark, fragility and resilience. There’s no colour to hide behind, no vibrancy to distract. Just form, shadow, and the slow, patient work of making something feel alive on paper.

My art isn’t just about realism. It’s about storytelling — about making you feel like you’ve stepped into their world, even if just for a moment.

What I hope you take away

In 2024, I was honoured to be recognised as an Emerging Artist at the 64th Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival. But what truly drives me has nothing to do with awards.

It’s the moments when someone pauses at my booth and says, “This reminds me of…” That connection — between you, the animal, and the story on paper — is why I draw. Each piece is a reflection of my deep admiration for nature and a way to bring its beauty and presence into our everyday lives.

Wildlife speaks without words. That’s what I strive to capture — not just realism, but storytelling that makes you pause and feel, if only for a moment.

Thank you for being here. I’d love to hear what moves you.
