There are animals alive today that may not exist in fifty years. I don’t know how to hold that thought without doing something with it. So I draw.
This series is the most personal of the three. These are the pieces I make when I’m angry, when I’m heartbroken, when I need to believe that bearing witness matters.
A rhino rendered in charcoal won’t save the species. But it might make someone stop and feel something they wouldn’t have felt otherwise. And sometimes, feeling something is where action begins.
