Commissions · For Pet Families

Portraits of the ones who love you back.

Hand-drawn charcoal portraits of your dog, cat, or companion — capturing not just how they look, but who they are.

Why Pet Portraits

"Every pet I draw is someone's whole world. I take that seriously."

My charcoal work began with wildlife – capturing the dignity of creatures that often go unseen. When I started drawing pets, I realized the same intention applied: pay close attention, honor what’s there, and let the eyes tell the truth.

These portraits are for the families who feel that bond. For the ones still here, and the ones we miss.

How It Works

A simple, thoughtful process

From your first message to a finished portrait, here’s what to expect.

01

You reach out

Fill out the commission form. Tell me about your pet, share 3–5 favorite photos, and pick the size you have in mind.

02

We talk it through

I’ll write back within 48 hours with a quote, a timeline, and any questions about your pet. A 50% deposit confirms the commission.

03

I draw

Each portrait takes 2–4 weeks depending on size. I’ll send a progress photo at the halfway point so you can weigh in.

04

It arrives

Once you’ve approved the final piece, I’ll collect the balance and ship it carefully packaged. Most arrive within a week of completion.

In Their Words

What clients have said

"

She captured everything about him — his stillness, his softness, the way he always watched over us. I cried when I saw it.

Sarah M. · Austin, TX

I’ve had two portraits done now — one of my golden retriever and one as a memorial for my cat. Both times I was speechless.

James T. · Chicago, IL

"

The halfway photo was already better than I imagined. When the final arrived I couldn’t believe how much personality she captured.

Maria L. · Miami, FL

"

A memorial portrait for a pet who passed away — she made something painful into something I’ll treasure forever.

Common Questions

Before you commission

What kind of photos do you need?

Send me 3–5 clear photos in natural lighting where your pet’s eyes are visible and in focus. Phone photos are fine. The best ones aren’t the most posed — they’re the most them.

Yes. Memorial portraits are some of the most meaningful work I do. Send the photos you have, even if they’re not perfect — I’ll work with what’s there to capture who they were.

Small portraits take 2–3 weeks, medium 3–4 weeks, and large 4–6 weeks from the time the deposit is paid. Rush timelines are sometimes available — just ask.

Absolutely. Multiple pets in one portrait are typically priced $150–$250 per additional pet, depending on size and complexity. I’ll quote you exactly when you reach out.

Yes. Domestic US shipping is included. International shipping is calculated at cost depending on destination and size.

I send a halfway progress photo so we can adjust before the piece is finished. Major changes are rare because of the careful start, but if something feels off, we’ll work through it together. Your deposit is non-refundable, but I won’t ship a portrait you don’t love.
