When I think about elephant mothers, I don’t just think about the love they have for their calves. I think about everything they teach them. For years, a calf stays close to its mother, learning where to find water, how to navigate the landscape, and how to survive in the wild. That lifelong journey of guidance and trust inspired Maternal Bond.
WILDLIFE FACT
Elephant calves remain closely dependent on their mothers for several years, learning essential survival skills through observation and experience. The wisdom passed from one generation to the next is one of the reasons elephant herds have survived for millions of years.
