African Serenade: Trio of Zebras

Charcoal on paper · 16" × 20" · 2023

The Story Behind this Piece

As I watched zebras standing shoulder to shoulder, I was struck by how their stripes seemed to merge into one another, making it difficult to tell where one zebra ended and the next began. It reminded me that while every zebra has its own unique pattern, together they create something even more powerful. That fascinating balance between individuality and togetherness inspired this drawing.

WILDLIFE FACT

When zebras gather in groups, their overlapping stripes can make it more difficult for predators to focus on a single individual, especially while the herd is moving.
