Under Her Watch

The Story Behind this Piece

Of all the big cats, I was drawn to the remarkable bond between a cheetah mother and her cubs. A mother raises her cubs alone, protecting them, teaching them to hunt, and guiding them through a world where few survive to adulthood. Watching her quiet patience and unwavering devotion inspired Under Her Watch. Through this drawing, I wanted to celebrate the strength, love, and resilience that define motherhood in the wild.

WILDLIFE FACT

Cheetah cubs are born with a long, silvery mantle running down their backs. This unique fur helps them blend into tall grass and may make them resemble a honey badger, discouraging predators.
